Fantasy Throwdown Forum

   WELCOME to our first ever showcase Fantasy Throwdown tournament!

   This tourney will pit 16 players against each other over two weeks in a round robin-elimination bracket format. The contestants include well known fantasy football writers from various popular websites and publications in the industry, plus Matt and Mike representing Fantasy Throwdown as well as three of our best Throwdown players to round out the sixteen.

   The tournament runs Weeks 14 and 15 of the NFL season. The 16 contestants will be broken into four groups of four. Each group will play a round robin in Week 14 - that is three Throwdown games per player - and each of the group winners advance to Week 15 for the Championship.

   The four players who advance to the Championship will each play another three games in Week 15 against the other group winners, and the Championship group winner will be declared our tournament Champ.

   Group winners are decided by won-loss record in the group. Tie breakers for identical won-loss records are determined by 1. head-to-head record between all of the teams that tied, 2. most points scored (all games played), 3. most QB points scored (all games played).

   All tourney games will use the DEF lineup and PPR scoring options.

   MtgProHammer - a.k.a. Hammer - 108-74 record against 90 different opponents
   Osowilds - Jeff Johnson - 46-29 record against 24 different opponents

   We still need a few people to register an account, and then we will form the groups and schedule the match ups.

   Note, I will be setting up the match ups, so no need to issue a challenge to the other people in your group. Once all of the matches are set, then I will communicate to all the contestants to get in there and get the games going.

   Thanks Bob. Glad to have you take part! You've got a tough group there. raptors and FBGWILL have played a lot. I think they've both passed me now. That Christiansen guy... seems to know what he's doing too.

   The games are set up! Each player should now see three tourney games in their Game Manager - Current. Please check the details that they are set up correctly.

   - each player should have a game against every other player in their group
   - if you are listed first or second in the group, above, then you are the challenger in two of your games
   - if you are listed third or fourth in the group, above, then you are the challenger in one of your games
   - the game naming convention is as follows: WT = Writers Tourney; letter is the group and number is the number in the group as listed above
   - all games should be for Week 14
   - all games should be DEF lineup option
   - all games should be PPR scoring option

   If anyone notices any issues please let me know.
